Your registration marks are the first thing a ramp inspector reads. We cut them from 3M cast vinyl rated for outdoor aviation service — it survives sun, fuel spatter, prop wash and a wash rack, and it comes off cleanly years later without taking your paint with it.

Fixed-wing sets are cut 12 inches high, each character two-thirds as wide as it is tall, in solid strokes one-sixth of the character height, spaced at least a quarter of a character width apart, in a color that contrasts sharply with the background. Rotorcraft, antique and exhibition aircraft fall under different paragraphs of the same rule. Tell us your make, model and year at checkout and we lay the set out to the paragraph that applies to your aircraft, then confirm it with you before anything is cut.

Three finishes

Standard is a single color, the finish most owners fly. Two-color adds a drop shadow or outline so the number reads at distance against a busy paint scheme. Metallic, chrome and 22kt gold are specialty films for show aircraft and restorations.
