Federal cargo-tank marking sets built from your tank records, inspection/test results, shipping information, and approved proof.

What $145 covers: the marking set for one cargo tank, with one proof. Fleets of 5 or more tanks are $119 per tank.

JZAC Designs manufactures the cut-vinyl portions of applicable cargo-tank markings in Genuine 3M cast vinyl. We do not perform or certify the inspection, determine tank construction, or classify the hazardous material.

49 CFR marking families this listing can cover
  • 49 CFR 180.415 test / inspection markings: month and year plus the applicable test/inspection type. The federal minimum character height is 1.25 inches and the marking is placed near the specification plate or on the front head. Authorized abbreviations include V, I, P, L, T, K and K-EPA27 as applicable.
  • 49 CFR 172.328(b) Class 2 cargo-tank material name: proper shipping name or appropriate common name, at least 2 inches high, on each side and each end when the provision applies.
  • 49 CFR 172.328(c) QT / NQT: MC 330 and MC 331 cargo tanks are marked near the specification plate with QT or NQT in letters at least 2 inches high, as applicable.
  • 49 CFR 172.328(d) Emergency Shutoff: the manually activated remote shutoff is identified by the words “Emergency Shutoff” in contrasting letters at least 0.75 inch high, immediately adjacent to the closure means.
  • 49 CFR 172.328(e) unodorized LPG: NON-ODORIZED or NOT ODORIZED on two opposing sides when that conditional rule applies.
  • 49 CFR 172.313 Inhalation Hazard: marking on two opposing sides of applicable bulk packaging, subject to the rule's exceptions and the applicable bulk-package size rule.

Not included as generic die-cut compliance products: full hazmat placards, orange UN/NA panels, multicolor hazard diamonds, or any required marking whose complete compliant construction needs a mandated colored field, symbol, substrate, or listed assembly.

What you send: exact marking type, exact wording/data, tank specification when relevant, quantity, background color, desired vinyl color, and the inspection/compliance record you are using.

Proof-Match Guarantee: if our production does not match the approved proof because of a JZAC Designs production error, we recut the affected material at no charge.
