NEC Article 695 / NFPA 20 fire-pump power provisions include a specific disconnect identification requirement. The disconnecting means is marked FIRE PUMP DISCONNECTING MEANS with letters at least 1 inch high and visible without opening enclosure doors or covers. A placard adjacent to the fire-pump controller identifies the location of the disconnect and, when applicable, the location of the key.
